Golfing on the Historic Balmacewen Course

If you enjoy golf then you will love this iconic course only four kilometres or ten minutes drive from the heart of Dunedin City.

Transport from the cruise ship to this attraction is not included in the ticket cost, you will need to make your own arrangements.

The historic Otago Golf Club, founded in 1871 has a picturesque 18-hole layout and is renowned as one of the top golf courses in the South Island of New Zealand. Its hilly terrain, quality fairways and greens will challenge all levels of golfer.

Other benefits of the Club include convenient quality practise facilities and a clubhouse with lounge, dining and bar areas. There is also a fully stocked and staffed Pro Shop attached to the clubhouse.

When you arrive for your game you will be met by a club professional who will set you up with a golf cart and clubs. If you are golfing alone then we will try and pair you up with a local.

Return to your cruise ship at your leisure after a day out on one of the great golf courses of the South Island.

Instructions

• If you book a single ticket the club will try and pair you up with a local to play
• Please advise at the time of booking what time you expect to arrive at the golf course
• The par for this golf course is 71 for men and 73 for women

Restrictions

• Players are asked to be neatly attired on the golf course and in the club house - Dress jeans, walk shorts and collared tee shirts are acceptable. Items deemed inappropriate are - beachwear, football wear, sign-written tee shirts, and jandals
• We are a soft-spike course
