The original plan was to fly to Cape Reinga - but unfortunately the weather had changed for the worse and there were thunder storms etc predicted. We were offered an alternative tour with the Helicopter Flying over the Bay of Islands and then landing on the “Hole in the Rock†what a mind blowing experience. Flying over the Bay of Islands our pilot Daniel spotted a pod of Orcas (6 in total) - what a bonus. Landing on the “Hole in the Rockâ€was an experience in its self. Absolutely brilliant and well worth it.

How do we know which Helicopter will be used?
This is decided by the operations manager on the day, for small groups of up to 3 persons then it is usually the Robinson 44, but if others are book you may fly in the larger Bell Longranger helicopter with others.
Is it safe and are we insured?
Like any type of transport, there is always a small risk, but this is a professional company, fully licensed by the NZ Civil Aviation Authority. and they hold full public liability insurance.
Can we bring extra persons on the day?
You may bring additional persons on the day but there is no guarantee that there will be room, so we do suggest you contact us at least 2 hours in advance to check availability.
